Honda's 2010 CR-V Offers Excellent Value And Reliability
Honda has a sterling reputation for producing high quality and reliable vehicles and the same applies to its compact crossover, the 2010 CR-V crossover SUV. The CR-V is an affordable SUV that offers Honda's known reliability, great gas mileage and great value. For 2010 this vehicle receives a few exterior changes including a new front grille, an updated bumper and a new set of eye catching slick 17” alloy wheels with 10 spokes. It’s a cinch to load this vehicle up due to its lightweight lift-up tailgate. This auto competes in the competitive crossover segment and goes head to head with the Ford Escape and the Toyota RAV4.
The engine that powers this vehicle is a engine is a 2.4 Liter V4 and puts out 180 horsepower and 161 lb feet of torque. When it comes to fuel economy, it gets 21 miles per gallon in the city and 28 miles per gallon on the freeway. This compact SUV handles the road well and acceleration is smooth and effortless due to the addition of an additional 14 Horsepower compared to the previous year’s model.
The CR-V comes in four different trims : LX, EX, EX-L and EX-L. All models come equipped with an air conditioning system, keyless entry, a CD stereo system, cruise control and a telescoping steering wheel. Storage space is generous with 35.7 cubic feet of room. The top of the line EX-L version includes mirrors that can be heated, seats crafted out of rich leather, compatibility with most personal music players, temperature controlled front seats and a premium audio system. A navigation system can also be added at an additional cost which includes compatibility with Bluetooth devices and allows for hands-free calling.
Honda engineers installed numerous safety mechanisms. An Anti Lock Brake System prevents the wheels from locking up and a Tire Pressure Monitoring system alerts you when your tire pressure need to be adjusted. The Advanced Compatibility Engineering structure was built to distribute impact force more evenly during impact and provides for superior passenger protection. The seat belts utilize a mechanism that automatically tightens the belt during an impending impact. In addition there is also an advanced air bag system installed.
The 2010 CRV would be a great car for anyone looking for a compact SUV with lots of trunk space and comfortable seating at an affordable cost. MSRP starts at around $21k which is an excellent deal for such a functional and competitively priced crossover.
