Martin Luther King Day Celebration Disrupted In Spokane By Explosive Device
Law enforcement in Spokane, Wash., found a bomb near a Martin Luther King Day parade route. City employees found an out of place backpack before the celebration started, which they notified police about once they discovered it had wiring. The investigation was turned over to the FBI. Somebody got some instant payday loan to make this explosive device, and let's hope they catch the culprit.

MSNBC reports that a Spokane bomb was found by employees in Spokane, Washington during a Martin Luther King Jr. Parade. There were city employees looking at the celebration route about a half hour before the start when the Spokane bomb was discovered. An unattended backpack that was sitting on a metal bench was found by city workers. There was a reason why the backpack stuck out enough that city workers were willing to call the Spokane Police. It was because there were suspicious wires coming out of it. The gadget was disposed of by the bomb disposal unit that immediately got there. The celebration had to be rerouted and was postponed because of this.
Might have mortally wounded several
The Federal Bureau of Investigation quickly took over the investigation, and the agent in charge said the explosive device was "viable" and would have been able to "inflict multiple casualties" had it gone off, according to the Spokesman Review. The explosive device was intentionally positioned for the improvised explosive machine to face the parade marchers, and might have sent shrapnel into the crowd. 2 t-shirts reading “Stevens County Relay for Life 2010” and “Treasure Island Spring Break 2009” were found within the backpack. The pipe explosive device found within the backpack, in accordance with ABC, was rigged to be detonated remotely by radio.
No one knew what the motive was
It is still unknown what the Martin Luther King Jr. Day parade bomb motivation was. Whoever planted the explosive device knew that people would get hurt from the explosive device. It might have mortally wounded many as well. Hate groups for instance the Aryan Nations white supremacist group that went bankrupt as an organization due to a suit is known to be in the Spokane and Northern Idaho area.
